Marketing Jobs Without Experience

Marketing jobs without experience – this article is for you. Are you a graduate with a degree in Communications or Marketing? Are you looking for your first role in a digital agency or an advertising firm? Read carefully, because this article will make sense of all the professional terminology for you. What is the difference between an advertising agency and a digital agency?

1. Marketing Jobs Without Experience in Digital Agencies and Advertising Firms

Generally, a Digital Agency is exactly what it sounds like; it deals with the digital aspect of advertising, such as: PPC (Pay Per Click) on Google, SEO (Search Engine Optimization), Social Media Management, etc. In contrast, an Advertising Agency deals more with traditional marketing communications, for example: billboards, TV commercials, radio, conferences, exhibitions, etc. Of course, there are advertising agencies that have digital departments, just as there are in various digital agencies.

2. Structure of the Client Management Department

This department is responsible for every operational aspect of the client, starting from outlining a marketing strategy, working with marketing managers in organizations, understanding the organization's needs to achieve its goals, and navigating between the different departments within the agency/firm. Candidates typically start within this department in the initial role:

A. Account Manager / Account Executive (The "Takzibai") The role of the Account Manager in an advertising firm or digital agency is the foundation of the department. Initially, the role involves a deep understanding of the various departments in the company: the Digital Department, Content Department, Creative and Copywriting. It requires familiarity with a variety of solutions for the company's clients, all while maintaining a broad strategic marketing perspective. The Account Manager reports to the Supervisor.

B. The Supervisor Those talented in the Account Manager role will usually advance to the position of Supervisor. The Supervisor manages the Account Managers in the department and is responsible for cross-sectional client management. In various organizations, there are several Supervisors, with each typically managing between 3-4 Account Managers. They report to the VP of Client Services. Outstanding stars will advance in the future to the role of VP Client Services.

C. VP Client Services The VP Client Services is a singular function that manages the department of Supervisors. Direct reporting is usually to the company CEO. This is the most senior role in the Client Management department in digital agencies and advertising firms.
