Assistant Controller
About the role
Join a Growing Finance Team! A global hi-tech company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our expanding finance and accounting department. In this role, you will be a key player in developing, documenting, and implementing accounting policies and procedures. We are looking for a hands-on professional with Big 4 experience who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-currency environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a core member of the finance team, you will oversee essential accounting operations and ensure compliance with global standards.
- Operational Accounting: Manage customer invoicing, collections, AR Aging, supplier payments, and statutory payments (VAT, IRS).
- Audit & Tax: Work closely with external auditors to prepare annual and tax reports, ensuring compliance for various tax benefits.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly consolidated reports, including transfer pricing calculations and monthly closing processes for all global subsidiaries.
- Reconciliations & Control: Manage all accounts and chart of accounts reconciliations, including credit card reconciliations and reviews of prepaid/accrued expenses.
- Cash Management: Monitor and control cash flow and maintain ongoing communication with banks.
- Systems & Strategy: Assist in the implementation of new company procedures and financial systems.
- Team Leadership: Provide professional guidance and support to the bookkeeping team.
- Ad-Hoc Projects: Lead various accounting and finance-related projects as required by management.
Requirements:
- Professional Certification: CPA with Big 4 firm experience - Must.
- Experience: 1- 2 years of experience as an Assistant Controller/Controller within a global hi-tech company operating in a multiple-currency environment.
- Standards: Proven experience and expertise in US GAAP - Must.
- Tools: * High proficiency in Excel - Must.
- Experience with ERP systems – Must (Experience with Priority is a significant advantage).
- Languages: High proficiency in English - Must.
- Soft Skills: A hands-on approach, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong team player. You must be independent, reliable, and capable of multitasking under pressure.
